Surveys concerning perceptions pertaining to science and religion repeatedly demonstrate this fact. In the USA, the problem is worse in the South and in the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly here in the Washington DC metro area, where politicians use religion as a means of taking advantage of a gullible public. But, as they say, it is nearly impossible to knock a mark.
