Mr. Deity’s Science Advisor

Mr. Deity now has a science advisor.

He looks strikingly familiar but I just can’t put my finger on who it is

I’d be afraid of this guy. He has a colorful science-y tie.

  • DreamDevil

    PZ = WIN!!!

  • http://randomneuronsfiring.blogspot.com Bill Snedden

Oh my “god”, that is f***ing hilarious. The ending is sheer genius.

It would be interesting if ontogeny did recapitulate phylogeny. Then by inducing labor at various points of gestation, you could get all sorts of interesting (and mostly extinct) species popping out. Too bad it is a discredited theory.

NonStampCollector also gives some examples (and reasons) why certain aspects of human anatomy are the way they are.

  • Gabriel G.

BWAHAHA, the banana bit was genius.

    I love these guys <3

  • billybee

Definitely the feel good hit of the season!!

  • elianara

The Science Advisor had a cool lapel pin too.

  • CybrgnX

All I can add is one complaint….Should a made it longer. I can’t express how apt, funny, biting, right on target, and this Deity is smart enough to at least get a great science adviser!!!! Who knows maybe it was this way??? PZ is very squidy, could it be that HE really is…..No can’t be or maybe…?

Ray Comfort will be thrilled when he sees this.

  • Kimpatsu

Bananas are comfort food! Ha ha ha!

  • Reginald Selkirk

Ray Comfort will be thrilled when he sees this.

Probably. He is too clueless to know when he is being mocked.

  • postsimian

Haha, funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Thanks Hemant!

  • keddaw

PZ: You can’t even design an eye that lacks a blindspot.

MrD: Where else am I going to put a blindspot?

    Brilliant.

  • Alan E.

@Cy – Brian Dalton (Mr. Deity) is looking into making a longer pilot.

Glad Zed got his squid bit in there. Ahh subtleties…

  • Luther

Yes Men and Michael Moore watch out!!! Putting a bunch of these together would make a great hit. MASH without the blood, yet lots of guts. The banana has got to be in the trailer.

Then again a play might be an even better medium.

  • muggle

I’d buy it. This Mr. Deity bit is hilarious and he plays just like the annoying smug business entreprauner persona.

Watched “Mary Poppins” with the grandson this weekend and that beginning bit about sounding smart made me think “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”

I want a tie like that even though it hurts my eyes….no, especially because it hurts my eyes.

  • Rob

Great clip! I’m missing something with the Banana though. I don’t get it and I’m sure there’s a big reference somewhere I didn’t follow.

    Any help?

  • Dave Empey

Rob, There’s a guy named Ray Comfort who argues that the banana is proof of God’s existence because of things like it’s convenient shape, just right for fitting into the fingers, and the ‘pull tab’, aka stem, to peel it with.

  • The Rebel Teapot

That’s the first Mr. Deity I’ve ever seen and it’s just hilarious. Gotta go find the others…

Rob: It’s a reference to the Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron and their argument that the banana is the “Atheist’s Worst Nightmare” because it /has/ to have been designed for the human hand, with its little pull-tab, perforation, etc. Here’s a SkepticWiki link: http://skepticwiki.org/index.php/Bananas:_The_Atheist's_Worst_Nightmare

The squid remark was pretty funny — PZ’s voice is not what I imagined, though.
