Not that many countries have Senates, and even fewer of them have been at war with the USA. Italy? Mexico? The Philippines? Spain? It’s hard to imagine any of them with only one Christian Senator.

I'm with Matt on this, giving a PEACE prize to a MILITARY anything foundation would completely defeat the point of the prize.

"Ta-rrific. And not a word of this in the press."

It all depends on which press one might review:

I'll have to look it up, but it sounds like it's not actually a military group but a foundation outside of the military that helps members of the armed forces fight the discrimination and harassment they are subjected to. It makes more sense than some other NPP laureates, frankly. This is a global issue when you're talking about a nation fighting two wars in Muslim lands and with a presence in many different cultures and belief systems. When U.S. officials proselytise in uniform it can easily make it seem, well, official and sanctioned by our nation. It could perhaps even take on a tone like the Crusades.

I've been hearing quite a bit lately about the fundamentalists taking over the military and it's been scaring me like crazy. The discrimination issue is horrifying within our country but the effect it could have on global politics is potentially devastating!

How can the peace prize be won by warmakers, religious or irreligious? Defies common sense.

Well, that's just disturbing, and potentially frightening -- Christian fundamentalists forming a power clique in the US military? And harrassing our Muslim allies?

Wow! This is so cool! I hope he wins it.

15,000 helped already! In four years! Man, this organization is needed. How disgusting is it that men and women putting their lives on the line for this country are being treated this way?

It's a scary, depressing stat. Especially when you consider that it's 15,000 who had the courage to stand up and fight. Who knows how many others are trying to just endure and get through?

The nominator of MRFF for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize is identified as a Senator from a foreign nation, which is an ally of the United States, and the only Christian legislator in the upper chamber of that country’s national parliament.

The letter refers to "a nation that once was at war with America." I would have interpreted that as a former enemy, not a current ally.
