Yes, I arrived at a different conclusion too...

I'm a Brit: do US male toilets actually show a phallus dangling between the symbolic man's legs?

The liberal Christian denominations are more open to women; however, even there it is apparently a bit tricky to become a senior pastor or sole pastor of a church (as opposed to an assistant pastor or a chaplain in an university or hospital). However the US Episcopal Church is headed by a woman, Katharine Jefferts Schori. The conservatives if anything are going backwards (the Southern Baptists use to allow women more ministerial powers).

The Catholics and the Orthodox which make up by far the majority of Christians worldwide do not permit women to be priests.

I dunno. During my last few years in the United Church of Canada, the trend in clergy seemed to be towards women (some young, but a fair number of middle-agers as well). At least, all the interns that came through my congregation seemed to be lacking a Y chromosome.

Of course, this is a denomination that also ordains gays and performs same-sex weddings.

The light coming through the keyhole seems to suggest there's something interesting to see on the other side of the door. Can't imagine what it could be.
