Jesus Would Buy the Acer Netbook

Not that I need another computer right now… but any company that lets the following be their sales pitch is a company I want to do business with :)

    Does Jesus handle ACER tech troubleshooting? Perhaps he can perform a ‘miracle’ and poof the French XP operating system on my Acer into English! (i accidentally installed the wrong language)

    It’s probably in response to “What would Jesus buy?” on Sundance tonight at 9pm with Rev Billy and the Church of Life after Shopping. Billy Talen is a great guy who gets over his anti-consumerism in the guise of of “Rev Billy” who is I suppose you would call a homage to the techniques of southern baptist preachers… (He is actually ordained in the Universal Life Church so is available for weddings – he married us!) BTW I don’t agree with everything he says but he’s great to talk with and is very serious in what he does…

    Windows isn’t available in the Middle East according to their licencing agreement. Sorry Jesus but you’ll have to stick with Linux.

    One thing that’s worth a try would be to open up the Control Panel and launch the Regional and Language tool (globe icon). Change everything there from French to English.

    Actually, a bit of Googling makes it look like this won’t work. You’ll probably need to reinstall.

    Trust me, I’ve tried everything. Even getting ACER to send me the requisite installation dvds (which they did) and then me buying an external drive to do the complete reinstall….and still no luck!

    Even if you have completely sworn off material goods and you live in a cave, etc., you should wander down out of the hills and find a connected computer daily to read the pitch on Woot. This guy or girl churns out a compelling yarn daily making a power adapter or a snow scraper the funniest (and therefore the most desirable) thing to you. And sometimes you end up clicking ‘I want one!’ Well, I have anyway.

    PC: And I’m a PC. We’re here in the Garden of Eden with Eve, who’s deciding what to have for a snack.

    EVE: I could go with the PC figs…

    PC: Fresh and delicious!

    EVE: …but they give me gas. I’m going with the iMac Fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
