Muslim-Turned-Atheist Explains the Deconversion on YouTube

YouTube user Kimdonesia went from being one of the most watched Islamic female vloggers… to being an ex-Muslim atheist.

How does that deconversion happen?

It was a tough process. My beloved canine companion of 14 years (“Beauty”) passed away, which resulted in thinking about death. This led me to think about the Hereafter, and whether the god in the Qur’an was truly just with his judgment.

I ended up strongly doubting Islam after finding about the “scientific miracles” of the Qur’an being refuted, and deciding once and for all that Islam is simply illogical and is based on faith rather than reason and logic.

So I left Islam, and continued to read and think until I lost belief in a god. Now, I’m trying to live as an atheist and get back on track.

How can you not like someone who requests subscribers with this: “I lost a large chunk of Muslim subscribers who think apostates have cooties, so please bring them up again!”

Plus, she’s from Australia, and that makes her extra awesome.

    I love how her accent makes it so that when she says “Islam” it sound like “the slum”. But maybe that’s just me.

Don’t realize that all those weird eyeball ticks are a symptom that this poor woman is infested by the parasitic entities which serve the foulest of the Elder Gods? In only a few months, this (formerly) innocent young woman will doubtless undergo a hideous transformation. She will be come a thing with glistening claws and writhing tentacles, and indescribable horror of ravening fangs and grasping suckers. Stop watching her youtube channel now, while you are still sane.

    If anyone can get in contact with Kimdonesia, please make sure she knows about the worldwide atheist convention happening in Melbourne in March 2010.

    Kimdonesia, your views from having experienced Islam as a young Australian woman will doubtless be very interesting and need to be more widely heard. The convention will be a great time for you to mix with other freethinkers and share your story.

    I’m sure if you mentioned it in a video, there would be many people supporting you to come along.
