My only comment is that new evidence suggests that the appendix is useful. It contains the normal intestinal flora and may serve as a source of that flora if the rest of the gut is depopulated. Herbivorous mammals such as the panda use their appendix to digest cellulose. It’s possible that we once did, too. We no longer need it for that purpose, but because it still serves as this flora reservoir, it has not disappeared entirely.

Hang on though if God made man after his own image then all those shitty “design” flaws like the vestigial tonsils that are giving my daughter so much trouble this week must exist because God himself is poorly put together. Clearly this is evidence of a designer of gods who had a sense of humour.

I hear God actually outsourced the design out to a ~~third~~ underdeveloped universe to cut costs. Can you blame him. I mean, look at how much stuff there is in the universe. It must’ve cost a fortune!

You gotta cut corners somewhere. So what if we now have to deal with the risk of swallowing our tongue and suffocating to death just for the ability to speak.
