Sketches for Skeptics

This is a really neat fundraiser started by someone who just wanted to pitch in.

Cody Barnes is a professional portrait artist from Birmingham, Alabama. He’s offering to donate a percentage of his fees to American Atheists for any atheist customers who want to get work done:

Cody’s portraits are $200 for a charcoal, $350 for a sepia painting, and $500 and up for a full color oil painting. Cody will donate $40 to American Atheists for every charcoal, $70 for every sepia painting, and $100 for every full color oil painting.

It might make a really nice gift for a special someone. If you’re interested, Cody’s contact information (and several samples of his work) can be found here.

I’m having a “Why Didn’t I Think of That?” moment. Dang.

I met Cody at an Atheist Meetup here in Birmingham once and saw some of his work.  He is very talented and worth the investment.  Finances keep me from engaging him for a work I’d love to have done for a friend.  Please take advantage of his wonderful talent.

I think  I might get a family portrait done for my sister and her husband’s Christmas gift. They are extremely religious…

Those look awful, no way I would pay that much money for mediocre doodles.
