QEDcon Takes Place in Manchester This March

For those of you living in (or wanting to visit) Manchester, UK, here’s a conference you’ll want to attend:

QED is a two-day science and skepticism conference taking place in the Piccadilly Hotel, Manchester on the 10th-11th March 2012.

Fantastic speakers from the worlds of science and entertainment will be joining us for a weekend celebration of science, reason and critical thinking.

They have a nice lineup of speakers, too.

If anyone has a spare overseas plane ticket lying around, I’d be happy to take it off your hands…

Too far for me. It is nearly 16 miles from my house. I will need that plane.

    I’ll be there :)

Why did you call it “the Manchester”? It’s just “Manchester”!

Be sure to discuss Lincolnshire’s use of blessed road grit when you’re there. There ought to be an empirical result allowing people to know if it did better or worse than Manchester’s unblessed road grit.

  • Tony

While you’re there you could watch a game of football.  God deosn’t exist, but if he did he’d support Manchester City!

I fly back to India on the 9th of March.

    So not amused…

TPRyan, there are a whole lot of Manchesters around the world (even India has one), it became a shorthand for any city dealing in textiles during the 1800′s. However there is only one “THE Manchester”, which happens to be the original one in Merry olde Englande.

About QEDcon, i went to the last one, twas awesome. I highly recommend it.
