You can be skeptical and friendly at the same time.

Looks like someone messed with one of the flyers put up by The Secular Alliance at the University of Chicago:
Atheists are dumb?! That’s it. Forget the ice cream. I need to get myself to church.
Hemant Mehta is the chair of Foundation Beyond Belief and a high school math teacher in the suburbs of Chicago. He began writing the Friendly Atheist blog in 2006. His latest book is called The Young Atheist's Survival Guide.
Maybe he was mad that they didn’t use a period on the end of the sentence. But then why didn’t he?
Last time atheists used a period, that might have caused a billboard to be deemed too offensive
I thought vandalism was a crime. I guess unless a “wrong” is explicitly spelled out in the bible its not wrong.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for
it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
I think someone has a bible without any dogeared pages or even a crease in the spine.
Funny how believers insult atheists and also wonder why they’re angry. Hmmm, could there be a connection?
It looks as if a 3 year old did the scribbling.
Their idiotic comments and pathetic put-downs make me prouder and prouder to be a non-believer, daily. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad. Who do you think is madder? Us or someone who crudely scratches out the wording on a sign like a serial killer? Furthermore, what is it really that they want from us? If we were really as stupid as they said, we’d all be Christians…
They want to control our minds by any means necessary. That is the number one objective of religion: MIND CONTROL.
But what about the put-downs that athiests post on this board. By no means do I approve of the defacing of someone’s flier. But I find it interesting how most of the posts and comments on this board again, are not pro-atheist but are instead just anti-Christian. Not even anti-religion. Just anti-Christian.
I’ve been called so many things on this board such as “blind follower, uneducated, etc, etc, etc.” Actually I see just fine with my binocular vision and I am quite educated. 3 degrees so far and I would love to go for a doctorate’s but haven’t narrowed down an emphasis. So yeah, I guess it goes both ways.
Again, I’m not saying it should. I’ve never said anything or put-down anyone on this board and I would expect the same of my fellow Christians. The fact that this is how someone felt that they needed to respond makes me sad. But it irks me when someone on this board thinks that they are better than someone else in one topic and then claims that they want everyone to be treated equal in another. Which is it?
looks like bathroom stall logic. Just something inane to scribble out for a cheap laugh without thinking about it or considering how it’ll make you look.
did I stumble into the wrong site?,/a>
I thought Rick Santorum would have them all leaving college by now.
I gave up mythology for Lent.
I do find it funny that the religious are always questioning our morality…pretty sure vandalism is on the “shouldn’t really do that” list…just saying…
Agreed. And yet I seem to remember a nice long discussion on her how people thought it was awesome to go around to hotels and write snide remarks in Bibles. Neither is good. If you don’t agree with what someone believes or is doing that’s fine. Talk to them about it. But to just resort to graffiti from other side of the proverbial isle is pretty lame.
If they want to have an opinion that’s fine (although it would probably be better to make your own poster) but removing the ice cream is just mean?
“Romani eunt domus”!
I was frankly shocked to see “dumb” spelled correctly. In my experience, whenever someone tries to insult someone else’s intelligence, their own lack of it becomes readily obvious. Like “a idiot” or a bunch of “maroons.”
Cuz learn’n ’bout talk’n snakes makes you smart.
