Fine, I’ll Join the Party

What can I say? Betty Bowers makes a *really* strong case for joining the Republican Party:

    Fantastic! the whole  GOP mantra in 2:07.

    On FB she said she had material for at least two more of these.

    • digitalatheist

      Well I hope she cranks them out! :D

  • Cowyeow

    Great video, let’s see one for the Dems too! Plenty of material there.

    I would like to see something like this run as a commercial on TV or radio. I doubt there are many stations that would run it but would still be interesting to see the responses.

    I’d repost this on my facebook but I don’t want to give the Canadian conservatives I’m friends with any more ideas.

    Sign me up! I need to save that.

    Very well done.

  • Enriqo

    Wow, that was terrible. The video was nonsensical, and merely pandered to people who fall behind the Democratic party line (ignorant by definition.)

    Atheist =/= Democrat
    Religious =/= Republican

    Way to reinforce stereotypes, Hemant. This is really starting to get old, and only alienates and divides us. Democratic positions on some of the most fundamental issues are not reached by a rational thought process. Just as Republican stances on some of the most fundamental issues ARE. The political spectrum is not a 2D axis, with Atheism on the “left” and religion on the “right.” I don’t visit this site for ill-informed ventures outside of your area of expertise. Judging by the comments, this sustained approach has already sieved and cultivated only a subset of atheists as readers. ‘Survival of the like-minded.’

       “Democratic party line (ignorant by definition.) … Democratic positions on some of
      the most fundamental issues are not reached by a rational thought
      process. … Way to reinforce stereotypes, Hemant. …”

      Sure glad YOU don’t indulge in stereotypes. That would be hypocritical.

    • Reginald Selkirk

       Enriqo: The Democrats are certainly not perfect, and the ad makes no mention whatsover that could be construed as “Atheist == Democrat.” You are just making stuff up.
      .
      It is undeniably true that the Republican Party is much much worse on issues of special interest to atheists, such as separation of church and state. The GOP has been specifically courting the conservative Christian vote since at least the days of St. Ronald Reagan.

    • L.Long

       Talk about throwing out a number of logical fallacies!!!
      Name one thing she got wrong?  As one commenter states…’The GOP in 2min”
      So true.  And no I am not a democrat–there aint one good enough to vote for.
      Wish there was.

      Enriqo,

      Democratic positions on some of the most fundamental issues are not reached by a rational thought process.

      Specifics, please? I’m not denying the possibility; I would be interested to understand. Thank you.
