I’m pretty sure it says undermines the *work* of priests. I.E. it’s a temptation to stray from the path of righteousness.
yeah I am pretty sure that was the idea.
I read it like this, but apply it to the parishioners, not the priests themselves, because my reading is that the “work” being undermined is the teaching/guiding of them

Well, a lot of effort, time and energy is spent grooming young children for rape…so yes.
