Atheist Billboard Goes Up in Omaha

The Omaha Coalition of Reason in Nebraska just put up this billboard to promote the Midwest Freethought Conference taking place in early August:

You know, there’s probably a point where these billboards will become ineffective… but it clearly hasn’t happened yet. So kudos to OmahaCoR for putting this sign up. They get coverage in every city they go up in. So kudos to OmahaCoR for putting this sign up!

    YAY Omaha!
I would love to see one here in St. Louis.

  • Joe Zamecki

    Nice looking billboard! OmahaCOR rocks!

  • MegaZeusThor

    Sometime I want to see:

“Don’t believe in the god myth? Join the club!”

(I’m sure it would be fine…)

  • Dbaker13

I’d love to see one of these in Arkansas!

    • Baby_Raptor

Me too. Sometimes I think I’m the only Atheist here.

      • Ceilingfan77

Yes Sir. Not many of us atheists in the natural state.

  • CoboWowbo

I’d love to see this in Vermont, but that’ll never happen…

  • Annie

I think this is my favorite yet!

You militant atheists are no better than religious fundamentalists!

(Sorry, I was just told this on a “Naturalist” blog where someone was intent on creating this ridiculous divisive false dichotomy.)

    • Nick_ellis

actually, we’re not.   We have evidence for our understanding of the universe instead of 3000 years worth of statements from snake-oil-salesmen

      • Theng

Yeah, its all a conspiracy, to save your soul. And all of them are just telling stories, that makes sense.

  • advancedatheist

I’d like to see the billboard which says something like:

“Guys, don’t become atheists because of the myth of atheists’ swinging sex lives. Atheism doesn’t turn a beta male into an alpha male.”

It looks even better in real life.  Just driving by it made me smile so hard.  Of course, it’s just a matter of time before it gets vandalized.   Such is this backwards state.

  • Ash

That’s so exciting! Does anyone know where in Omaha this is? I’ll make a point of driving past it before it gets vandalized…

I have been told that it is about 72nd and Pacific between NFM and I-80 facing southbound traffic for one month and northbound traffic the following month. I would link to the FB page I got this from but am not sure how to on mobile.

  • kfizz

Its better then thous dam pro life ads.

  • Michaelteply

Since I’m in California , we don’t need to remind us that there is no god

  • Njegg1996

Laughed so hard when i saw this. About time theres a billboard that isn’t a bunch of bullshit god quotes.

  • Desktop15

Yay! Atheists standing on their soapbox again demanding that other believe what they believe! Awesome to spend thousands of dollars on a billboard to bring people down instead of feeding the hungry in Omaha! Yay! Keep it up guys! Trolls.

    • Nick_ellis

Allow me to edit your post for accuracy:

“Atheists pointing out that you shouldn’t believe anything without evidence”.

I notice you make no criticism of all the money spent by religions promoting their own brands of pernicious fiction.
