Foundation Beyond Belief Members Raised $42,310 for Charity Over the Past Three Months

Foundation Beyond Belief just released the results from the Second Quarter of 2012. Check out the donations — $42,310 in total given by atheists — to the following organizations:

That chart doesn’t include the donations given directly to the Foundation itself.

It’s the first time since we began the organization that the Poverty & Health category received the most contributions. And while I don’t personally give any of my donations to the Challenge the Gap charities — that’s the category for non-religious organizations run by religious people — I’m glad to see that MAZON isn’t trailing the other charities by that much. It shows that many of our donors want to see good, secular work done regardless of who’s doing it.

If you’d like to see these numbers go up even higher, please join us! You can see a list of our current charities here :)

My wife and I are starting this month a new program for our family.  Every month her, my daughter, and I will all donate 10 dollars to a charity or organization that we feel is important to us.  For now since my daughter is only a year and a half we will donate to PBS Kids since we utilize that station a lot.  We hope this will provide a good habit for us all to get into.  Its not much, but it is a start, imagine if everyone that could afford this, did it.  We could seriously resolve a lot of problems quickly.  Just thought I would share the idea, and hope others pick it up as well.
