Last week, I recorded an episode of The Malcontent’s Gambit podcast and we talked about the importance of the Internet to atheism, the Atheism+ “controversy,” Jainism, and plenty more. The episode’s finally up so give it a listen :) Many thanks to host Alan Litchfield for the fun conversation.

I also recorded a podcast with Carl at Post Rapture Looting and that’s available as well (iTunes link here).

How come “controversy” is in quotes?  I’ve seen plenty of rhetoric from two distinct sides, which, if I’m not mistaken, is the definition of a controversy.  Wait let me check.

Says here “prolonged dispute, debate, or contention.”  Well I’ve seen lots of contention, that’s for sure.

Putting the word in quotes gives the impression that the controversy is not real, or valid.  I won’t dispute that it’s been obnoxious, rude, and at times downright hateful; but it most certainly has been real.

Hemant, can you recommend more podcasts like these? I’ve gone to my podcast app’s search function and searched atheist, secular, etc, and good ones come up but I had never heard of these – they always make it through my searches because they have different titles. Is there a good atheist/secular podcast list somewhere? I tried googling it once but a lot on their list hadn’t been updated in years.

I don’t know if you’ve posted about this one, but I’d check out “Geeks without God,” a new podcast from some Minnesotan Geeks about being a nerdy atheist.
