An Ad in Houston Reaches Out to Gay Atheists

About a year ago, reader Jimmy published an ad in OutSmart, a free monthly magazine for the gay community in Houston, Texas, reaching out to people who were godless and gay. The ad suggested that the group Houston Atheists would welcome them with open arms.

Since that time, the group has done a lot more to reach out to the “double-minority” community, including having a booth at the Gay Pride Parade and hosting lectures specifically about the subject.

Now, in the November issue of OutSmart (p. 71), they’ve posted another ad to reach fellow gaytheists:

I think they meant Harvey Fierstein, but the sentiment is still a good one :)

If you’re an atheist in the area, consider attending the Houston Atheists‘ next gathering! You’re not alone and they’d love to meet you.

Damn, now I’m wishing I’d grabbed a copy of Outsmart the other day when I saw them being given away. I might give those meetings a shot sometime.
