I Guess She’ll Be Talking to Us

I knew it. These people exist. The Internet says so:

… “Someone’s bound to say something, and when they do, I’ll be ready to unleash a big tirade about the attack on Christian traditions and our right to publicly celebrate religious holidays,” said Jacobsen, adding that she is “raring to go” with a long-winded speech defending the presence of the diorama, which depicts an infant Jesus Christ lying in a small manger alongside life-size figurines of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph…

Wonder how long it takes for someone to go nuts not realizing its from The Onion

    Uhmerca, fuck yea!

  • Bellj

I saw this a couple hours ago on fb and was smiling. I know people like this! The lady across the street already has her “Keep Christ in Christmas” sign out. We have lights and a beautifully decorated tree thanks to my husband. Who’s merrier, I wonder?

    gotta love the onion.

Too bad it’s an Onion article.  I was ready to grab a plane ticket just so I could complain about said nativity scene.

  • Kirby_G

Is the Onion just deliberately Poe-ing now?

Erm, isn’t that their mission statement?

  • Baby_Raptor

Looks like my exhusband’s mom. And she would have that  attitude, too.

I like responding to that with “Keep the Holy Mass in Christmas” if the religionist isn’t Catholic. The sputtering makes it worthwhile.

The Onion is fair and balanced just like the “Red Onion” FoxNews.

I remember when the Onion was satire.

  • Baal

I only skimmed the post and missed that it was The Onion.  Really, the problem with satire about xitans (especially the right wing or overtly political ones) is that you more often than not cannot sort out over-the-top from the everyday normal.  They bury the needle every single time.

    Favorite religious bumpersticker ever:
“I [heart] the old Latin Mass”
    (in gothic script, of course!)

I received a “10 Reminders for Christmas” email from my mom this week, with the first reminder being “Keep Christ in Christmas.”  I promptly deleted it, but realize now I should have forwarded the email to Hemant!

This is definitely from The Onion, no?
