Catholic Priest: Women Are Abused Because They Dress Provocatively and Don’t Cook Warm Meals Anymore

You know how some people think atheists hate Christmas? I am going to humbly put forth the idea that the leaders of the Catholic church are doing their own damage.

First, the Pope wanted to remind us that the real problem with the world was gay people.

Then Archbishop Vincent Nichols railed against gay marriage.

And now Father Piero Corsi of Liguria (Italy) is going after women in general:

Father Piero Corsi

Well, not women in general… Just the slutty ones who provoke poor defenseless men into beating and/or raping them.

Corsi posted a Christmas message on the front door of his church in San Terenzo, Italy. The merry, merry title? “Women and femicide — healthy self-criticism. How often do they provoke?”

He says:

How often do we see girls and mature women going around scantily dressed and in provocative clothes?

They provoke the worst instincts, which end in violence or sexual abuse. They should search their consciences and ask: did we bring this on ourselves?

I think am going to write a similar article called “Children and the priests who rape them — healthy self-reflection. How often do they seduce?”

What’s that, you say? Father Benedict Groeschel already said that? There was already a blog post on Friendly Atheist about that?! You yourself wrote it? (Why have an inner monologue when you can have inner dialogue, I say!)

Well, holy shit, I can’t even satirize these lunatics anymore.

What other words of wisdom does Corsi have for us?

Is it possible that all of a sudden men have gone mad? We don’t believe it.

The fact is that women are increasingly provocative, they become arrogant, they believe themselves to be self-sufficient and end up exacerbating the situation.

Children are abandoned to their own devices, homes are dirty, meals are cold or fast food, clothes are filthy.

Makes sense… Your wife left dirty dishes in the sink, so she obviously deserves a smackdown! Evidently, it never occurred to Corsi that men were capable of picking up a damn broom themselves…

There have been calls for Corsi to resign, but he says, “Screw that! I am going to call a reporter gay instead!”

I don’t know whether you’re a queer or not, but what do you feel when you see a naked women?” he asked a reporter for Rai Radio.

While he does not plan on resigning, he is going to take “a period of rest to find [his] path in a serene way.”

Let’s hope it’s a never-ending road.
