Hah! Thanks for posting this, Hemant! I had to run out to the recycling bin to double check the fact that my uber-liberal Seattle Times didn’t run those two frames.
It’s for space reasons. That’s why Sunday comics have one or two panels at the beginning that are unrelated to the rest of the strip. Not all papers have the space for them, so they make it something insignificant that can be cut away in those papers.
It’s one of the reasons we lost your avatar. http://www.chron.com/life/books/article/Why-Bill-Watterson-quit-Calvin-and-Hobbes-1952901.php
12/31/1995 Never forget.
It’s impossible to forget Calvin and Hobbes. Best comic ever!
Unfortunately, a lot of newspapers cut the first two panels in their Sunday comics. So, comic strips have to waste those panels on throwaway jokes that are often unrelated to the rest of that day’s strip. Apparently my local paper cuts those panels, since I didn’t see this joke when I read Doonesbury earlier today.
The rest of the strip goes on about how Dems like Gore are better than Romney…being “public conscious” and all. Hilarious! Since Gore sold out to Al Jazeera he actually has more money than Romney! Bahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Definition of a Sermon 1. A religious discourse delivered as part of a church service. 2. An often lengthy and tedious speech of reproof or exhortation.
I fail to see the distinction.
