It’s Hard Out Here For a Pope

Cult Comedy Pictures has finally filled that “pope rap-parody”-shaped hole in your heart.

They filmed a pretty amusing video spoof of the Academy Award-winning song “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” (look it up!), and it’s… well, just watch it:

The Ft. Lauderdale-bound Pope is played by Jake Hart and the whole deal was filmed in one day (February 14th).

But, actually, what I thought was interesting about this deal was how the Huffington Post handled the whole thing:

As for where it rates on the blasphemy scale, you be the judge. But it’s a lot lower-budget than the revenge parody “Djesus Uncrossed” that recently aired on “Saturday Night Live.”

Remember: We’re just the messenger.

Am I being overly sensitive, or is there something odd about how they are distancing themselves from the video?

  • Rain

Atheists need a “Harlem Shake” video.

  • Raymond

    You’re being overly sensitive.

  • Pseudonym

The Pope was reading a book with the title “Holy Bible”, something that only Protestant bibles say. So that ruined it for me.

  • SecularMusings

Not surprised that HuffPo is distancing themselves from it. They pander to the religious moderates all the time. Try going on Gay Voices and finding a gaytheist, you just fucking can’t.
