Helping out a Fellow Atheist

When I was on the board of the Secular Student Alliance, one of my fellow board members was Neil Polzin. Great guy, great activist. He got married in 2011 and everything appeared to be going pretty well for them. But earlier this month, his wife Lauren was a victim of a tragic explosion at her workplace.

Lauren’s still in the hospital. Alive. Getting surgery. Doing better. But recovery will take a while.

In the meantime, while workers’ compensation will take care of most of the medical bills, the couple could still use some help. Please consider chipping in and helping them out.

You’ve all donated for far less important reasons in the past so I hope we can push the fundraiser over the top.

Oh man… I used to work for a Sport Chalet in a different city. I’ll vouch for the company; they would never knowingly neglect their premises to let this sort of thing happen.

I hope she has a speedy recovery!

$100 donated, and on Tuesday I’ll be driving over to the La Canada Sports Chalet to donate a pint of blood for her credit.

Oh no! Money is really tight right now, but I should be able to donate $10-20 in a few days.

I hope she makes a full recovery, quickly.

I wish I could help. Unfortunately I’m broke & live in another state; if I were closer I’d bake you cookies or something :-(
