Julia Sweeney’s New Book and $5 Film

Following in the footsteps of comedian Louis CK, atheist playwright (and former Saturday Night Live cast member) Julia Sweeney is now releasing the film version of her *incredible* one-woman show “Letting Go of God” on her new website:

Check out the preview below:

If that’s not enough, Sweeney is about to embark on a publicity tour for her newest book If It’s Not One Thing, It’s Your Mother. The book, rather than centering around her atheism, is a collection of essays focusing on family and motherhood. (You may have caught glimpses of it during her recent popular TED talk.)

The book tour will take Sweeney to New York City, Los Angeles, Portland (Oregon), and back home to Chicago.

Downloading the 4.9 GB file now. Finally I’ll get to see the whole movie. Thanks for the heads up! BTW: Who’s this Mariam commenter below? Looks spammy.

Huge fan! I have listened to Letting Go of God at least twice a year for the past couple years. At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, it was very transformative for me as an atheist. So much of what she said was reminiscent of my own journey, and it was great to hear it from someone else in such a funny and heartfelt way.

Didn’t I already see this? Or was it just a clip of it on youtube?
