Foundation Beyond Belief Announces Q2 2013 Slate of Charities

The Foundation Beyond Belief has just announced its five beneficiaries for the new quarter — each charity will likely receive several thousands of dollars, courtesy of atheist donors:

POVERTY & HEALTH: One Acre Fund

HUMAN RIGHTS: The Innocence Project of Texas

CHALLENGE THE GAP: T’ruah

EDUCATION: Bernie’s Book Bank

THE NATURAL WORLD: Trees, Water & People

Most of my donations this month are going to Bernie’s Book Bank, a group that “works to increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout the Chicago area.”

If you’re not already a member of the Foundation, please consider joining!

Where are you giving your donations this month?

I very recently signed up, and I couldn’t be happier to see the Innocence Project of Texas on the slate- they provide a much-needed check on the justice system.

I recently gave a Kiva microloan to a group of women in Kenya who were getting farming help through the One Acre Fund. I’m glad to see them on the FBB list, and will be giving a little extra to them this quarter.
