Jane Lynch and Jordan Peele Promote Church/State Separation in New Music Video

Glee‘s Jane Lynch (who recently told TMZ she was “kind of an atheist”) and comedian Jordan Peele (of Key & Peele) just lent their support to a music video promoting the idea of church/state separation:

The chorus is perfect:

We’re Church and State
And we need to separate.
Cuz we’re all up on each other
And we’re hurting one another
And it’s causing hate.

Been together for way too long.
Your rights have been my wrongs.
We need to separate
Church and State.

The video was created for Americans United for Separation of Church and State:

“We couldn’t be more pleased to have incredibly talented professionals of this caliber working with Americans United to protect individual rights for all,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Americans United executive director.

Added Lynn, “This video tackles a serious issue in a provocative and playful way.”

The Religious Right’s going to throw a hissy fit. I love it :)

The video points to a petition you can sign if you support church/state separation.

Ah Jane… I adore her more every time I see her. Love the styling they used and the love song style is excellent.

Love it, but “You’re rights have been my wrongs.” Please tell me that’s not copied from anything put out by Americans United for the Separation of Church and State

That’s what’s called a typo. Let’s fix it and pretend like it never happened :)
