Atheists Featured on North Carolina’s Light the Night Walk Handbook

The Foundation Beyond Belief blog reports some really cool news: The Triangle Freethought Society is featured on the cover of North Carolina’s Light the Night campaign handbook, representing all of us who walked during an event last year:

The caption reads “FBB 2012 Top non corporate team in the country.”

Hear that, American Cancer Society? Foundation Beyond Belief teams raised more money than any other corporate team in the country, money the ACS decided they didn’t need because we were atheists. (I’m not bitter, I swear.)

We’ll be running Light the Night campaigns again this fall. If you haven’t signed up yet, start or join one of the many FBB teams across the country! The list is here.

Ok, I just read the post of the ACS CF, and I have to commend FBB for being a better group of human beings than I would be. I would be raising money to flood every media market to explain what ACS did, their poor record of raising money, poor efficiency with funds, etc. ( a la Komen and their recent pr disaster). But then again, I have a strong back and carry a grudge really well. So, congrats to FBB. I will try to learn from your example. Bravo to all of you.
