I hate to say this but I found this video very annoying.

    • WallofSleep

Hold the fuckin’ phone… is that dude wearing frames without lenses?!?!

As a person who has dealt with astigmatism his whole life, I find that sort of offensive. As a person who abhors pretension, I find that extremely offensive. |-[

(BTW, that emoticon up there is me frowning and squinting, as I desperately try to proofread my comment for spelling errors with my crappy eyeballs)

      • the moother

It’s fashionable in China for teens to wear frames without lenses…

“Makes the eyes look bigger,” they said…

        • The Other Weirdo

And tentacle porn is fashionable in Japan. Nobody cares.

      • Tainda

I’m going to have to agree with you on this. I’m a very sensitive person.

      • curtcameron

He’s trying to sort of look like Adam Savage, who wears glasses. What’s wrong with taking the lenses out if Brian Dalton doesn’t himself need glasses?

        • WallofSleep

I’m just talking (typing?) smack. I’m pretty sure the lenses are out to eliminate glare from the lighting during filming. Still, it always looks strange to me whenever I see that sort of thing.

  • Rain

Wow that Shermer dude is what they call a “natural”. Who knew! (I can’t subscribe to his channel though because of my own law of not subscribing to channels that would have me as a subscriber.)

  • Pellnastmusenhabengeseitlich

I don’t agree with the law of attraction, but they seem to miss the point. Shermer says, “If good things happen because people will it, doesn’t that mean bad things happen because people will it?” That’s kind of the point, isn’t it? That we attract things based on how we think? They seem to be saying the law of attraction isn’t true, because they don’t want it to be true. I know the video is just for fun, and I can’t do better, but that was disappointing.

    • Quintin van Zuijlen

I think that wasn’t entirely clear, but their argument was that if the law of attraction is real, disasters would only happen to people that want them, yet people rarely do want disasters to happen to them.

      • The Other Weirdo

Some religious people might. It’s a sign of the approaching Apocalypse.

  • Dave The Sandman

Awww…..I was hoping Mike would have caved and bought the little lass a bike at the end – shes cute as a button and damn well deserves a new bike.

I’m disappointed that Shermer didn’t go for Jamie’s walrus mustache, I think it would have looked better (or at least funnier). And there weren’t nearly enough explosions!

  • Mary

i agree to most of the comments here…fail!

    Brilliant! Love the parody.

Here’s some more on the science of why The ‘Law” of Attraction doesn’t work. And how you can used research-based techniques to visualize *and act* to create what you want: http://theotherenlightenment.com/the-powerful-bullshit-of-the-secret/
