This Summer, in Chicago, a Conference About Atheism, Philanthropy, and Putting Our Humanism to Work

Chicago doesn’t host all that many atheism-related national events, but I’m excited that Foundation Beyond Belief’s first ever conference will take place here July 18-20 at the Hilton Rosemont/O’Hare.

Why would you want to go?

Because you’ll get to hear from inspirational atheists who are putting their Humanism in action. Like Hemley Gonzalez, the founder of Responsible Charity, a group that provides education to children in the slums of India. And Leo Igwe, the Nigerian human rights activist who has done incredible work fighting back against witchcraft accusations and other superstitions. And Seráh Blain, who purposely lived on the streets of Phoenix for weeks to raise awareness and funds for a women’s homeless shelter.

Just amazing people who are not simply interested in debating God’s existence, but who think it’s our responsibility to make this world a better place and who are willing to do something about it. (And they’re only a few of the many speakers.)

You can register for the conference right here and it’s not too late to get the early bird discount! I hope to see you there.
