If They Kept the Embarrassing Bits In, the Bible Must Be True!

There’s an argument made by many Christian apologists that one proof of the Bible’s truth is that there are passages in there that make the Bible and the story of Jesus look bad. Why would you include embarrassing details like that, when your critics could pick them apart, if they didn’t actually happen?
