Ex-Muslim Group Launches Project Featuring Apostates Sharing Stories of Why They Left Islam

The Ex-Muslims of North America just began a project in which they publish videos featuring apostates who are willing to speak out publicly.

ObaidVideo

Obaid’s line of work has taken him across the globe: he has spent time in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Sudan and Haiti. He learned first-hand how damaging sectarian violence can be to a society, experiences which led to him realizing the dangers of faith.

Today, Obaid is an unflinching advocate for free speech and inquiry. He sees religion to be inherently opposed to free thought and speech, which he considers the best tools to break free from the chains of faith.

This is just the first of what I can only hope are many videos in the series. It’s well-made and features a very brave subject.

One powerful way to encourage others to leave their faith is by showing them how those who have already done so are doing just fine. These testimonies really do go a long way.
