Don’t Let Your Certainty Overtake Your Doubts

David Hayward at Nakedpastor makes the point that “Most of us would rather wither up and die in our certainty than allow questions to interfere with our tidy beliefs.”

Then again, I feel like that exclamation point is only dragging you down if you believe something that’s clearly untrue. You don’t need to question objective facts. It’s when your opinions are unassailable that all civil conversation goes out the window.

Questioning is good, but it always helps when the answers you’re seeking have a basis in objective reality.
