Australian Bigot Margaret Court: LGBT People Brainwash Kids, Just Like Hitler Did

Margaret Court, the former Australian tennis star now known for her virulent anti-LGBT bigotry, has doubled down on her faith-based hatred. Last week, she wrote a letter to the editor blasting Qantas airlines for supporting marriage equality in the nation. The backlash was fierce, and as so many bigots do, Court isn’t about to change her mind.

Instead, she wants to tell you why gays and lesbians are so damn evil.

For example, the LGBT movement brainwashes children. Just like the Nazis.

“That’s what Hitler did. That’s what communism did,” Court said, “get in the minds of the children. There’s a whole plot in our nation and in the nations of the world to get in the minds of the children.”

In the face of polls that show 65 per cent of Australians support gay marriage, Court said: “We know the statistics are very, very wrong. They’re after our young ones, that’s what they’re after.

She also argued that, for many, childhood abuse led them to homosexuality:

In America, she said “92 per cent were abused sexually or emotionally when they were young even to be this way”.

If it wasn’t abuse, it was the negligence of their parents.

Schoolchildren who struggled with their sexual identities must have been raised by parents who “don’t care”, surmised Court.

And her sport of tennis? Some of the top players were especially good at recruiting.

Tennis was full of lesbians, she said. In her day, there were only “a couple”, but they were disproportionately influential. “They took the young ones to parties and things,” she said.

She’s pulling these anecdotes and numbers out of her ass, of course. You can’t “recruit” people to homosexuality, nor is there any evidence that shows homosexuality is “caused” by anything we have control over, including physical abuse, negligent parents, or going to parties.

But before you bash Court, she wants you to know one more thing.

“I have nothing against homosexual people.”

She has nothing against them. She just wants to demean them and prevent them from obtaining equal rights. And if she needs to make up numbers to prove her point, God will surely forgive her.

Court was once so famous and revered, they named an arena after her in Melbourne. Whether it’ll stay that way remains to be seen, but it’s incredible how her Christianity and the hate it inspires overrides every one of her tennis accomplishments. Unless she lets go of her uninformed and ignorant talking points, she will forever be known as the Christian bigot who won some tennis matches, not the superstar who put Australia on the tennis world’s map.
