Don’t Accept These Arguments in Favor of Alternative Medicine

Drew McCoy, a YouTuber at Genetically Modified Skeptic, does a nice job in this video talking about some common arguments in favor of alternative medicine… and why they make no sense whatsoever.

He specifically responds to these claims:

1. There are no side effects.
2. Personal anecdotes.
3. It’s been used for thousands of years.
4. It’s backed up by research.
5. Big Pharma is all about money; alternative medicine isn’t.
6. They’re “natural.”
7. God made it, so it must be good.

As Tim Minchin jokes, “You know what they call alternative medicine that’s been proved to work? Medicine.”
