Um, so I just found your page and the top ad was for Liberty University? I love your mission but am very confused.

Hi grumpy_otter, the ads are controlled by software that searches for website pages with words about a particular topic, and then targets ads with a similar topic to those pages. Because it’s all mechanical, it is prone to absurd matches. A page that says “Christianity is stupid” will get ads for Christian groups, services and products, and a page that says “atheism is stupid” will get ads for atheist groups, services and products. We have to disregard any implication by association to the ads that show up. It helps to pay the bills, so we put up with it and chuckle at the funny juxtapositions.

So through advertising, Liberty University, and their benefactors, are helping to fund atheist websites. Bless their dear little hearts. It just feels more rewarding when I’m on an atheist website and I click on their ads.
