Southern Baptist Leader Admits Pastors Won’t Be Punished if They Refuse to Officiate Gay Weddings

It was only yesterday when I posted about Southern Baptist Convention President Ronnie Floyd telling an audience that if same-sex marriage is legalized, he will refuse to perform any gay ceremonies. (Not that anyone was asking him to in the first place.) His declaration received a huge round of applause from people who appreciated his firm stand on the issue.

So I have to give credit to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Albert Mohler, Jr. for admitting that pastors need to stop complaining that they’ll somehow be forced to perform gay marriages against their will. It’s just not gonna happen.

Pope Francis, True to Form, Argues Against Abortion and Birth Control in New Environmental Encyclical

Today, Pope Francis released Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home, his encyclical on climate change. Etsy’s Bullshit Ban is Angering Witches Who Sell Spells

At some point over the past couple of months, it appears that Etsy — the website where people sell handmade goods — revised their policy on what could and could not be sold.

Specifically, they have now added magical (“metaphysical”) things to the list of services that cannot be sold:

Any metaphysical service that promises or suggests it will effect a physical change (e.g., weight loss) or other outcome (e.g., love, revenge) is not allowed, even if it delivers a tangible item.

Christian Preachers Cry Foul Following Arrest at County Fair for “Aggressive Behavior”

Over the weekend, there was a County Fair in Springfield, Tennessee.

Wherever you see big crowds in the South, you’re bound to see street preachers, and this was no exception. The problem was that the Christians who were trying to convert the (I’m assuming mostly Christian) crowd were so belligerent and obnoxious, they were breaking the code of conduct for fair-goers:
