When Christians Asked People to Describe God in Three Words, the Plan Backfired

The Missouri State University chapter of Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) recently asked students to tell them “what 3 words they’d use to describe God”:

One of those students wanted to know what this was all about, so she attended their meeting last night. After singing worship songs and hearing announcements, a group leader revealed a word cloud with the most popular responses from the survey.

A Substitute Teacher in West Virginia Wants to Wear Priestly Garments in the Classroom

Usually, public school teachers can get away with wearing a crucifix necklace or hijab if they want to because it’s not considered distracting. It’s an expression of their faith, but neither one of those things suggests any sort of proselytizing.

Christian Pastor: A Woman Gave Me Money and Her Baby’s Brain Tumors Disappeared

When John Oliver was exposing faith-based fraud last week, he didn’t mention Pastor Rod Parsley. But if he saw this clip, maybe he would have.

In it, Parsley explains how an unnamed woman was pregnant with a fetus that “had more tumors in its brain than the doctors could even count.” She then decided to give Parsley money.

Darrell Trigg, the Christian Party Candidate Who Wants to Protect Marriage, Got Divorced in 2013

Darrell Trigg (below) wants to be the next President. He’s the candidate for the Christian Party — a party that I’m pretty sure has a total membership of one — and his platform is a mish-mash of right-wing talking points.

He wants to eradicate separation of church and state, bring mandatory prayer back to public schools, stop any legal recognition of homosexuality, increase the drinking age to 25, and ban nudity and bad language on television.
