Tribute to Veterans

On this Veterans Day (observed), I would like to salute the veterans of our armed forces, past, present, and future (which includes our troops on active duty who, if they survive, will become veterans). To them I say, I support you not just by feeling sorry for you. Rather, I admire your prowess, exult in your victories, and thank you for protecting me.

Yes! And can we stop calling them kids in the media? These men and women have done a lot more in their few short years, seen more, and experienced more, than the reporters and politicians who insist on demeaning them with that phrase. We should also remember they volunteer. They aren’t the same soldiers who were shot up in Veitnam. We should be proud of these men and women.
