Final Four

I am glad to see that one of my alma maters, Kansas, is in the Final Four. You may notice that I say little about basketball in this blog. One reason is that whenever I watch basketball my team, no matter how highly favored, loses. I can tune in at half time with my team leading by 12 points, but in the final minutes that lead slips away and they lose at the buzzer. I just know from experience that if I had watched the Kansas game, this year’s team to come out of nowhere Davidson would have made that final 3-point shot and won the game. So I AM supporting my team by not watching it play. (I just hope writing about the Jayhawks on this blog will not have a similar effect.)

I won’t be watching either, but I too am a KU alumnus, so I’m rooting for them too!

Sorry, I was REALLY hoping that that three point shot had gone down. I wanted the team that creamed my Badgers to advance. And I have no qualms that my watching or not has any effect whatsoever. My main thing is, I always delay watching until half-time, and then scoot through quickly by FF the commercials. If it is a game I’m only sort of interested in, I watch the whole thing on the first FF setting. Little boys all rushing around the court like Charlie Chaplin.

No longer having a horse in this race, I could care less who wins the national championship. The teams that are SUPPOSED to be there are there. Not much of interest, frankly.

Well, Bruce, you can still root for the Fighting Sioux of UND as they take the ice vs. Boston College.
