I have a new granddaughter! Evangeline Christi Moerbe. Isn’t that a great name?
May the Lord bless and keep her and make His face to shine on her and give her peace.
Congratulations, Dr. Veith. Blessings upon her.
Yes, a beautiful name and a beautiful baby!
God bless her. What a precious little gift.
A name that preaches Christ. Awesome!
God’s blessings on little Evangeline and all your family!
Congratulations! Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
What a beautiful baby and name.
I forget–how many granddaughters does that make? Any male grand-offspring?????
God bless Evangeline. She is beautiful.
Congrats, good Dr. Grandpa!
Great name for a beautiful child.
Evangeline Christi Moerbe, what thoughtful parents. Congratulations!
When is she to be baptized?
Congrats Dr Veith! I love that name Evangeline (but, alas, my wife doesn’t)
That is the bright spot of my day so far! Congratulations!
Christi Evangeline, what a fine name to start life with, and what a lucky girl to have such fine parents and grandparents.
Off topic but tangentially related in light of your granddaughter’s Longfellow-reminiscent name: Please would you and your readers consider contributing a list of your 10 favorite poems to my poem survey? Read more about it here: http://www.semicolonblog.com/?p=9520
From my Facebook page which included a picture of my mom at work:
Just got an e-mail from Erich Heidenreich pointing out that God just gave Dr. Veith a granddaughter named Evangeline.
Here is a picture of my mom, Evangeline Marie Olson (yes, she was EMO) in Dr. Zimmer’s officer, now Dr. Volker’s office, right near 69th Street and Buffalo Ave. in LaSalle (Niagara Falls). Back in the day when nurses and folks in dental offices wore funny hats and refrained from wearing pajamas to work.
My mother called herself ‘Vange’, but now the name Evangeline has become cool. The Canadian model called ‘Freckles’ by Sawyer on Lost, Evangline Lilly, is certainly cool and gorgeous.
So I think that my mom, who died just over a month ago, might have stuck with name given her these days: Evangeline. For it means “of the Gospel.” What an amazing name. Of the Gospel. A name that springs from the death, burial, and resurrection of the Son of God.
The Name. Philippians 2:10.
Blessings for and congrats from Beggars All.
Great name and cute grandchild [though my twelve may be a hair cuter!:) ]
Thanks, everybody. Booklover, Evangeline is #4. One of them is a boy. We also have another one on the way, though we don’t know the boy or girl information yet.
