Easter and Baptism

Did you realize that you were buried in the tomb with Jesus?  And that on Easter morning when He rose from the dead, you did too?  That’s what your baptism accomplished, according to the Bible:  “having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead” (Colossians 2:12).

I’ve often pondered Ecclesiastes 7:1 “A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth.” In my baptism, I was marked with the cross of Christ and had His Name placed upon me. I know that since I died with Him, I shall also live with Him eternally. Nothing can separate me from God, not even death which will only unite me with Him forever.
    Pax Domini,

    Romans 6 !

Awesome. For us, the last judgement has already taken place…on the cross and in our baptisms.

That IS the best news I have heard, all day (every day).

Colossians 2:12 is the verse my pastor quoted while baptizing me Easter Sunday, ten years ago on April 15th. I wish Easter Sunday would fall on the same date every year – it was one of the most special days of my life, to be baptized on the Sunday which coincided with Easter Sunday!
