Ramadan is in the air!

My kids are still babies, the oldest is 6 (going on 16), but my nieces and nephews are newly minted teenagers. I have to say that, mashAllah, the good upbringing that their parents used to raise them is starting to blossom through their manners, priorities, and actions. In a group family message, they shared their resolutions for this Ramadan:Pray 8 rakat duha, daily Complete the Quran Watch the tongue and stay positive Do not touch anyone with anything that may hurt, annoy, or … [Read more...]

A Letter to Ramadan

I had just finished putting the baby down for his nap sheepishly awaiting some scream free time when my four year old exclaimed, “What can we do now?” It's her most oft repeated question and it often feels like my well has run dry of ideas. I gave her a blank stare for about a minute and thought to myself that I can sit her in front of the computer and have her play a PBS kids game or really try to take advantage of the moment. I’ve read several ar … [Read more...]

But I’ve stopped online shopping now.  I’ve given up online sales for an even better sale: Ramadan.  Siraj Wahhaj once sa … [Read more...]
