Grrr… editing

My next step for writing The Book is to go back and edit the not-entirely-satisfying work I did on chapters two and three, and trying to incorporate a lot of what I wrote about a month ago about civility. I’m considering cutting a lot of material so I can make them one chapter. But I just have… not writer’s block, editor’s block. So if you don’t hear from me for a couple days, that’s what I’m pounding my head against. Advice welcome.

Best advice I can give, as an occasional editor myself, is to ask your readers or someone you trust for editorial help. The editorial process is what makes a decent book great, mostly by someone else pointing out that you need to cull your sacred calfs (if you pardon the religious pun), tighten here, explain there.
