I just send in the manuscript of the book to my contact at Patheos, in hopes of getting it published under Patheos’ imprint. So happy about this. I really believe in what I’ve done with this book. For the time being, the drafts remain available in Google Docs.
What do people need to know about the atheist movement?
Book #2 is basically done, but I’m going to try to write a better introduction and one thing that might be really helpful to people is explaining what’s happened with the atheist movement in the last 10 or so years. I’ve realized that I definitely don’t want to give the (false) impression that it’s all [...]
It is finished! Chapter 9 draft for book #2, “Bad religion”
Here it is! Chapter 9 draft of book #2. Actually, it’s not quite finished because halfway through I said “screw it” with regards to section headings, but the rest of it is there. Suggestions for clever section heading names appreciated.
Beta testing a book: Chapter 6: The conflict between science and religion
Here you go. It’s basically a compilation of many of the blog post I’ve written this past month, but now you get to see what they look like combined together into a whole. Beta testing a book: Chapter 5: An open letter to religious believers on God and evil
And now… the revised version of chapter 5 of the book. It contains my “open letter on God and evil,” which has been floating around the net for more than two years, longer than any other part of this book. But that’s not all it has. The full chapter consists of:
Beta testing a book: Chapter 4: This is what your religion looks like to me
Okay, here’s a cleaned-up version of chapter 4 of the book, titled This is what your religion looks like to me. “In this chapter” and other notes below the fold:
What should I call my book?
A couple weeks ago, I got this comment on one of the posts in my beta testing a book series:
Best testing a book: Chapter 2: The many gods I don’t believe in (yours included)
I just got done cleaning up my draft of chapter two of the book. It’s called The many gods I don’t believe in (yours included). Summary below the fold: Richard Dawkins’ Big Bad Quote What do ordinary religious believers believe? The theologian who can’t tell you what he believes What is fundamentalism? Who’s really ignorant about theology? [...]
