The ancient history of Hampi recently got a 21st Century boost when the Department of Science and Technology took up the Indian Digital Heritage (IDH) project. The Digital Hampi book will be published with the collaboration of:

According to the website,

“This book is the consolidation of work done under the Indian Digital Heritage project, which is a unique initiative of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. This project involved collaboration between researchers in the areas of Technology, Computer Science, Architecture and Humanities for the digital documentation and interpretation of Indian tangible and intangible heritage. The project highlights the art, architecture and cultural legacy of the world heritage site of Hampi in Karnataka, the medieval capital of the Vijayanagara dynasty.
