Loving the Lord with all Your Mind

Loving the Lord with all Your Mind September 2, 2015

[Report by Maira Alejandra]

Hispanic churches across the United States are making sure students are ready for the new school year. They’re celebrating “Education Sunday” on Sept. 6.

The annual event, hosted by the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, takes place the first Sunday of September to encourage churches to play an active role in the education of the students in their congregations and communities.

On Sept. 6, churches will pray for students and faculty and encourage members to support local schools – including public, private, and homeschools. The event also seeks to empower congregations to actively support high academic achievement for every child regardless of income, race, or zip code.

Dr. Andrea Ramirez, executive director of the NHCLC’s Faith & Education Coalition, explains to CBN News the heart and theme of this year’s Education Sunday, which is to “love the Lord with all our minds and to love our neighbors as ourselves.”

You can find resources and more information about how to participate in Education Sunday at the Faith & Education Coalition website.
