2 Chronicles 5: The Presence of the Lord

“Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, 14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.” -1 Chronicles 5:13-14

When the temple was dedicated, the cloud of God’s glory was so thick that the priests could not perform their services.

I’ve wondered why God would stop his people from worshiping. Wouldn’t he want his Levites to offer sacrifices, to give him praise? The one observation I see here is that God considered time in his presence more important than any act of worship. While both are good, God’s presence is top priority.

Are we missing God’s presence because we are trying to follow his rules? How do we even know? Let us begin by coming to him with a heart of worship. Let us seek his presence. Those who seek the Lord in worship are those who will experience his presence.

Let’s talk about it on Facebook! Share your thoughts, pictures, or videos on handwriting Scripture.
