If God Were A Muscular Father, God Would Beat Up The Villain Who Shot School Children March 3, 2018

If God were a muscular Father, then long before a villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school, God would beat up the villain.

If God were a muscular Father, then shortly before a villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school, God would beat up the villain.

If God were a muscular Father, then while a villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school, God would beat up the villain.

But God did not beat up the villain long before the villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school.

And God did not beat up the villain shortly before the villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school.

And God did not beat up the villain while the villain was in the act of murdering and maiming God’s school-age children at their school.

You’ve witnessed a rule of inference in propositional logic. It’s called modus tollens. When a ‘then’ assertion is untrue in an If-Then argument, the ‘if’ assertion is untrue too.

Not B.

Then not A.

Is it therefore sound to say God is no muscular Father?
