With Tennyson, Wordsworth, and Hesse, Marcel Proust stands as yet another renowned author who has thought deeply about life and the idea of a pre-mortal existence. Proust writes:
“Everything in our life happens as though we entered upon it with a load of obligations contracted in a previous existence. . . obligations whose sanction is not of this present life, [which] seem to belong to a different world, founded on kindness, scruples, sacrifice, … a world whence we emerge to be born on this earth, before returning thither.”
~ G. Marcel, Homo Viator, New York: Harper & Row, 1963, 8
We may each have had intuitive moments when we all seem to come pre-disposed with certain gifts and talents to this earth. We’ve had moments when we’ve connected instantly with someone, feeling a kindred-ness that we sense extends beyond this present sphere.
There is, in addition to what we may sense about our present sphere continuing after this life, and having its origin earlier than mortality, actual revelation that attests and affirms that reality: We lived pre-mortally in a heavenly home we enjoyed to which we will return in glory. There is a clear and grasp-able picture of who we really are, where we came from, and why we’re here.

Bible Verse: “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” (Holy Bible: Old Testament: Jeremiah 1:5).
Faith Quote: “There is something in every man and in every woman which savors of the divine, in all the circumstances of life there is a reaching out after something which is beyond the grasp; there is a soaring of the spirit, a seeking after something. Man not only feels that he is, but thousands and millions of the human family have an inkling of the great fact that they have been, and millions more have an inkling of the other great fact that when they leave this stage of existence they will continue to be. And it is the realization of such things which establishes the idea outside of any other special revelation that our origin is divine as well as human” (H.W. Naisbitt).
