I've lost count of how many times I've read the Grinch these past few weeks. I've got it memorized, as do the kids. In fact, they are starting to cotton on when i try to skip a line or two in order to move things on along toward bedtime. "No, mom, you forgot the part where..." Thin Places: Sanctuary

I love Halloween. Seriously, when else do you get to be a rockstar-gypsy-cowgirl AND eat lots of candy? Ok, maybe i do that every day, but still. On Halloween, it's FESTIVE. And there are decorations, and the candy-calories don't count (as everybody knows). Tomato, To-mah-to…

Well, about this time every year, i commence whining. About the miserable desert heat, about the astronomical utility bill, about the utter lack of lightning bugs to bring an element of joy to sweltering summer nights... and maybe, most of all, about the fruitless (ha ha) search for a good tomato in the desert.
