What If Women Could See Through Men’s Eyes?

What If Women Could See Through Men’s Eyes? July 25, 2015

I’ve wanted to share on this topic for a little bit but forgot about it until I was reminded by a friend of mine who has a book coming out on the very thing. It’s called Through A Man’s Eyes. The reason that reminded me of this topic, is if I had to think of the most popular or frequent email I get it’d be this very thing. The email I get over and over again is from finances, girlfriends, and sometimes wives asking me about resources or help for their husband or boyfriend who is addicted to pornography.

Every time I get a message like that I continually realize just how pervasive the issue is. There are countless marriages and relationships where porn is completely destroying it and wreaking havoc. There’s lots of stuff I could say about porn, and I have in many different places (I recently spoke at Q on this topic. You can watch that here). Summary is this: guys you need to get help. Get in community. Live in the light. Be honest. Be ruthlessly transparent. And do whatever it takes. Use all the tools at your disposal (the Word, prayer, community, software, etc).

But one thing I don’t talk about much is how a lot can come from simply a woman leaning in and trying to understand a man. Understand how he’s wired. How he thinks. What lens he sees the world through. I’m eternally indebted to Alyssa for doing this very thing. She leans in and asks questions and listens. We also both would probably completely say we are indebted to resources and books and things that have kind of let us peek behind the curtain per se of each other. Because of my past with porn and a lot of really poor decisions I’d made years ago we’ve had to work through a lot as a married couple and there’s been a handful of things that have been so incredibly helpful. That’s why I’m so stoked for my friend Craig’s new book and resource. Also I just saw he’s doing a complete 10 session e-course for the book too that’s $100 which I’d normally think is a little steep but honestly when it’s our marriage then building it and making it better can’t have a price tag. And you get the book and a bunch of other free stuff with it. But if you can’t get the e-course I’d highly recommend the book. It’s only 8 bucks on Amazon right now here. You can checkout the e-course by clicking below.
