Announcement: One.Life now shipping December 12, 2010

Our newest book, One.Life: Jesus Calls, We Follow , is now shipping from Amazon — so it should be in your bookstores, too.

At Saddleback last night I was asked to speak on the topic of one of the chapters in One.Life — The Radical Jesus. Rick Warren is developing five questions about Jesus this Advent, and last night’s was “What child is this?” So there are five speakers, five approaches to the question, and I was asked to address the issue of the radical message of Jesus. What child is this? The one who lived a radical life and the one who calls to a radical life.

I recommend this book for those who want to see what the Christian life looks like when you begin with Jesus — when you let his kingdom vision establish the categories. An advanced copy told me the book was “relentlessly Jesus.”

"Thanks. That they were given an inheritance alongside their unnamed brothers is particularly noteworthy."

I read all of One.Life on Thursday — IT IS relentlessly Jesus. It is also provocatively Jesus, and disarmingly Jesus, and absolutely joyously Jesus. I would also think for many of us it might be counter-intuitively (but thankfully) Jesus, for even in church culture, where Jesus IS king, many of us find we have christianized ourselves into a corner. I’ll be starting One.Life again this afternoon, a little less voraciously, and a little more ponderously. Scot, thanks for, once again, looking at Jesus afresh and catching His Spirit.

It is Jesusy. I hate to spoil it for you all, but the protagonist dies near the end.
